I had put some quarters vertically in what I presume are change slots at the front of the center console storage compartment. For a couple of weeks now, I heard what sounded like something loose in the rear of the car. It turns out that the vertical quarters were causing this. I wonder if Euro coins fit better.
okay, before i say the rest please let me state: i fully understand your point, because my Cayman S is coming in 2 months and i´m also gonna hate every creak/unwanted noise.!
but: you gotta look at it from a third parties view, so to say: your problem seems to be that you money is flying around the inside of you Porsche.....!!
i guess a lot of people would like to have these kind of problems....
Canadian coins are just as bad - I got a small leather zippered pouch to hold a bunch of change, and keep that in the center console. Much quieter. Does not have a Porsche crest on it, however!
I've promptly removed the quarters I had in there. Seems a shame to have that space wasted. Anyone figure out any practical use for those spacers (in the US)?
Having read this, I checked it out in Europe last week. Euro coins (especially the 2 euro piece) fit perfectly and were clearly on the mind of the designers. Why these were not downsized for the North American market is an unansweredquestion. The Japanese with their infinite interest in meeting foreign market needs would have sussed this out, I expect. Perhaps this is another market idea for after-market suppliers.
Speaking of the Japanese, I remember reading in a business school text years ago that when the Japanese decided to enter the American car market decades ago, they began by buying measurement information from American garment manufacturers in order to better understand the exact general proportions of American drivers -- things like the length of forearms, feet sizes, spread of fingers, etc. Pretty clever, eh? At the same time, General Motors, which had a showroom in central Tokyo, still only offered cars with left hand drive in Japan whose cars, like the British, have right hand drive.
