Possible solution to oil/grease streaking windows

I paid a visit to my favorite detailing accessories shop, 'Car Care Specialties' (carcareonline.com) in NJ over the weekend.

The owner is a longtime Porsche racer. I mentioned my problem with the grease streaking the windows. He explained that the factory overgreases the window rollers, which is causing the streaks. He said thatover time, the grease will dry-up, so we should not have the dealerstouch the window mechanism unnecessarily. In the meantime, we should justclean the windows before we head-out each morning.

Hope this helps.

Tks for that - I am experiencing this problem - as I have on previous Porsches. It amazes me that this problem persists.

How many have this problem? My preciousis being born as we speak. I sure hope they've alleviated this seemingly simple problem and mine doesn't come with that feature. -SJD

The problem shown up first on a very hot and humid day - not sure if humidity has something to do with it, but I believe high temperatures do. Since the first problem, things have been better, with just one minor problem left on the driver side.
