Frayed edges on seat belts after 3 months

After 3 months worth of normal day to day driving, I noticed today that my seat belts started to fray on the edges on some parts close to the buckle. I checked out the passenger side and it looked fine and obviously it was simply on my side. Is this normal wear and tear? Could I ask the dealer to replace it with a new seat belt cos it was an optioned coloured seatbelts? For those materials, it should not fray so easily... but this is a bit strange. It looks to me like a warranty item but wondering if I can claim warranty cos this can't be categorized as 'defective' but I am sure that it frayed under normal usage/driving conditions.

I've never seen this problem on any of my Porsches (or other cars for that matter). I'd push for a replacement and see if you can figure out the cause.
