Slight grinding/rubbing noise

I have 930 miles andjust noticed aslight grinding/rubbing noise emanating from behind the driver's seat when I slowly pull out from a standstill.

It is linked to the accelerator, when I tap the accelerator to start moving forward, the noise appears. It is very slight, so the A/C and radio must be off w/ windows up to hear the noise. I took the car into my dealer this morning to have it checked out.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

I was just in my car and noticed (for the first time) a slight 'swooshing' when i would tap on the accelerator. The noise sounded like it was coming from the rear, almost near the trunk (no i didnt have anything rolling around in the trunk).I have around 3500 miles on the car. This is the first time ive noticed the noise. Is this anything like what you heard?

Also, what did the dealer say when you took it in?

The bad slave cylinder causes a 'ratchet' noise. Is there any notchy-ness in your clutch / gear shifter? Is your clutch engaging near the floor or after 4-5' of travel? Other than that one sympton idea, I have not heard here on the forum of a similar issue.

I live for that sound. It is actually very normal, and I'm surprised you haven't heard it until now?? You must be blasting the radio.

It is just the intake sucking air - literally. Think back to opening the hood and hitting the Rochester 4bbl accelerator lever on your old Chevy Camaro...same exact noise.

mt647,

I want to de-snork it, but I leased it, so I cannot really do much in terms of mods.
