Shudder @ high revs w/AC on

I may have missed this in the manual so I appreciate any pointing in the right direction. It's hot here in PA right now so I am running with the air on. When I wind the car up past 5500 rpm I get an engine shudder. This only seems to happen when the AC is on. I know I am spinning the compressor, but should it make a shudder? Has anyone else noticed this? The engine sings fine and true right up through 5000 rpm +.

Mine does not shudder at any speed with the AC on. You might want to have it checked.
