Twitchy auto return right side mirror

I like the auto lowering feature of the right side view mirror with power seats, but this weekend the mirror wouldn't always automatically return to the regular drive angle. Anyone experience this problem?

I had this happen once. I think it might have been related to a very specific sequence of changing gears and possibly turning off the engine in between.

Did you have the mirrors control switch in neutral? I don't have this feature in my Cayman, but in our MDX, if the switch isn't in neutral, the feature doesn't work.

I thought I had the same problem in my M3. All you have to do is put the the mirror control in neutral and the auto-lowering will come back. When you select the right side mirror it will disable to auto-lowering.

On the CS, the mirror switch has to be set to the right mirror position in order for the auto lowering to work and it was set that way when I had the problem--the mirror lowered, but didn't return to the normal position. A bit disconcerting to see the ground rushing by instead of the car in the blind spot on the right. It worked fine this morning so maybe it was just a glitch or phase of the moon...
