FWIW- i've noticed a sound when i back out of the garage and turn the wheels hard, but i think it's just the tires making the noise. i haven't really listened too intently. i usually just try to avoid "full-lock" when backing out of the garage. i'll try to pay attention more next time.
What you might be hearing is tire scrubbing. Especially when the tires are cold (& adhesion is reduced), the extreme steering angle can cause the tire(s) to slide sideways.
Actually, it's probably the steering system trying to provide boost against the hard stop of the wheel lock. If you stop applying pressure against the wheel at it's locked position (all the way to the right or left) you will let the power steering system know that you no longer need its' help getting the wheels to turn and the sound will stop. This isn't just a Porsche thing though.
I went to the Porsche dealer and talked to the certified porsche/audi mechanic this afternoon. Essentially what he said was about the same with Fadiboy's. "Full brake in the steering wheel puts too much pressure on the steering system. It should be considered normal and in fact in Audi this is more pronounced".
