After lurking on this site for over a month I decided to treat myself to a new Cayman S. I bought it at Pioneer Centres in San Diego. I got a good deal, $8000 below MSRP because the car had 192 miles! The car is artic silver and the options are Sport Chrono, Sport Shifter, Sport wheel and automatic climate control. I really feel like I lucked out on this one. I really wanted the S. chrono and the Shifter. The climate control is quite useful too. Thank you to all of you in this forum; you have educated me and allowed me to make a good purchase with all the relevant facts. By the way, I recommend Pioneer Centres. My wife and I had an excellent experience. Our sale guy, Matthew Bang was extremely pleasant.
Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
Congratulations on your new Porsche Best Car Ever!
I hope you have a lot of fun with it! I was scared when I read "automatic climate control." Since it cuts off after automatic, I thought it was going to read "automatic transmission." Enjoy it in good health. (And at high speeds )

Congratulations on the CS. I noticed on Pioneer's website they have a GT3 RS listed for sale. Is it still there, and did you see if they had a "market adjustment" price. They also have a Carrera 4S in Signal Green, how does it look in person?
Congrats on the new CS. I picked up my CS from Pioneer on Saturday and enjoyed a two day trip back to NorCal up Hwy 1.
2thMnky,
There was an Orange GT3 RS at Pioneer, though my sales rep mentioned a buyer might be coming in over the weekend. The Signal Green 997 is an absolute stunner. The picture on the dealer's website doesn't do it justice. It's now located in the showroom; under the lights the color looks incredibly rich and deep. Yes, it's a special color and not for all folks, but I could see myself living happily with it for years.
