Got a Cayman 06 LOADED with options but not PASM and would like to know if the sport chrono option is a bunch of a croc or really does enhance acceleration and agility and how do you know if your tail goes up after 70 some mph? Vote for Sanjayah - Hollalulah Hollaback
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.

I don't have SC, but my understanding is that it basically remaps your throttle so the pedal operates the throttle a bit quicker. It does NOT make your car faster.

Same way I know the light in my fridge goes off when I close the door. But seriously, I happened to see a Cayman on the road the other day, and when it hit about 70, the tail went up... now I don't KNOW that the driver didn't do it manually, but I'll make an assumption.

Seriously dude.
Due to no network going up against Idol, that's all that is on at that time and I actually watched it this week. I don't know what's more remarkable about Sanjayah. The fact that he's possibly the most androgynous person on the planet, or the fact that someone so terrible has actually gone that far on that show.
If you vote for him, my best guess is that you are either:
a) A member of his family.
b) A 14-year-old girl.
(Who ACTUALLY phones in and votes anyway? Seriously.)

Spoiler goes up at 75, not 70, then I believe back down at 55.
Sport Chrono can make your car faster, but it isn't because of more HP, etc. but rather due a faster reacting throttle and the ability to hold revs between shifts better.

I researched the heck out of Sport Chrono while I was writing the Sport Chrono FAQ. I am sorry to say (sorry because you don't have it and can't go back) that the membership here pretty much unanimously agrees that Sport Chrono is a must have option.
This option was played down by the media big time when the car launched, calling it a $920 stop watch. But the option really runs much deeper. Take a look at the FAQ above for more info.

OK, I can't let this one slide. This is the second season I've watched this show. My girl and I got sucked in last season. Sanjayahs very presence this far in has pretty much shattered the shows credibility in my opinion. He doesn't belong there. He sucks. The guy can sing, sort of. But not nearly as well as the others including those that have been given their walking papers (Sundance & Sabrina).

I thought I read in one of the magazine reviews that Sport Chrono produced better lap results, FWIW.. can dig it up if you want.
