Several people on that magna carta thread regarding the IPD Plenum wanted to see , my dyno chart on my stock CS run. Here it is. This was a stock run with no mods at all on the car (other than some spacers on the wheels). As you can see, it stock dynoed at 284 at the wheels. This is very high.
My brother was an engineer for GM, and I was talking with him about this being much higher than Porsche would advertise. He told me that occassionally in manufactoring the parts on the assembly line match up just right, causing an extremely tight engine. I am guessing that happened here. It really could not have been the dyno b/c Ken ran his car just before mine and got the same results he got a few months earlier.
I am planning on getting in for a post-plenum run next week. It will be interesting to see if it adds more than the 10-12 hp others have gotten on highly modified cars. If this thing adds 20 hp at the wheels, it is certainly a cheap $/hp equation.
Plenum
The plenum is the piece that goes between the Cayman throttle body and the intake runners. The factory piece is a long black plastic tube with a divider down the middle. There are aftermarket replacements which are designed to allow the air to flow easier/faster into the engine and increase horsepower and torque.

Reason: embedded image - Changed 'IDP' to 'IPD'
The Tuner at the race shop I spoke to said those dynos generally read 10% to 15% higher than a calibrated Dyno and even more than in Porsche Cup certification mode. Well at least you can still measure the delta change and get a reasonable result because a 10% error at 20HP is only 2 HP. Good enough! Look forward to your result.
gforce,
I have 06 Cayman S manual, de-snork, Milltek headers & Milltek Cat Back, Evo V-flow filter, Snapflash and IPD Plenum. Next is Under Drive Pulley.
Ive pretty well run out of bolt on mods to do now except for say X51 manifold.
Im not interested in turbo, supercharging, engine swap or engine dismantle.

Exactly! K-manS has 311WHP and I have 290WHP with the same mods.
Have one new power mod to add next week. Gotta crack a real 300WHP.
Well now I have 301HP and 261LBS of torque so Ken has 10HP more with more mods but 10LBS of torque less. IF I do an intake and plenum I should be the highest NA Cayman S here. Ken has the highest HP but I have the highest torque. Intake and plenum should boost up my #'s.

Ummm did we all forget that you cannot compare one dyno to another?
Also I haven't done a post plenum dyno run yet I could be at 400hp for all I know...
