IPD Plenum Dyno Results / Chart Attached

I had my stock CS run this afternoon after an install of IPD plenum. I had installed the plenum about 20 days ago.

Pre-Plenum: HP at the wheels = 285
torque = 232

Post-Penum install: HP at the wheels = 290
torque = 234

So, I got a net gain of 5 hp. I apologize for not posting the dyno results, but it will have to wait to get to the office to scan it.

The chart will show that most significant gains in HP and torque occur at the low end of the RPMs between 1800 and 3200. In that RPM range, it shows about a 10 hp increase and 30 lb of torque.

Dyno results Graph below, post # 21...

Tks for sharing, guess the IPD isn't worth the investment.

Well....Low-end torque is what the CS needs most....if it produces 30lb in the mentioned range -- then I feel it is worth the investment.

Interesting...I actually just bought the IPD Plenum b/c Softronic was going to make a file that works with it.

Thanks for the post!

Woh thats interesting, in a disapointing kinda way.
Compared to mine, I lost power at the very low end but picked up across the whole power band with a net +12 increase.
As always, different mods, different results.
You could try the EVO filter now and maybe you might pick up more than without the Plenum. Test and see.

P.S. got more Torque. See thread in dyno section.

My dyno shows more gain in low end torque than yours, then it, along with HP, pretty much piggy backs my prior run with very little difference, peak being +5 hp gain. Overall, I am still happy with the 290 my car pulled. That is a pretty stout number. Question is whether the price is worth the 5 HP.

In your situation its a bit lame. Mine was ok however. Im sure if I used a different brand Dyno I would hitting 320WHP at least.

Obviously we haven't seen the dyno runs yet but why fixate on the peak gain number? 30lbs of torque on the low end is a helluva gain for no losses anywhere else. It would seem the car would be a lot more fun to drive in a daily driver setting. Sure for pure out track driving where the RPM's are always kept high the gain may be minimal and not worth the money but for a daily driven car 10+ hp and 30lbs. of torque in the low end with no loss in the high end is fantastic IMO.

I agree that 30 lbs at the low end is a substantial gain.

My apologies if this has been addressed before, but isnt the stock 285 WHP number a bit high? If this is dyno measurement error, is there any reason to speculate that the 30 lb ft gain might also reflect at least some error?

Where are the Dyno Graphs?

Can we please see the before and after Dyno Charts? I thought you originally posted stock hp numbers at 283. That sounds like a boat load of factory power. Most people agree that factory output ranges from 255 to 265. Nice torque improvement though.

Cheers,
Greg

I did initially report 283, but did not have my dyno chart in hand because Ken had it at the time. If I recall, I conditionally stated that I believed it dynoed at 283. Regardless, the first run was 285. I am sure everyone will have their two cents to add on the brand of dyno being used causing high numbers, or the dyno guy did not have enough experience, or he had too much experience, or his hair cut was too long when he did the run, etc...... We seem to see all of this stuff everytime dyno numbers are posted. I am just reporting what their results were, and the guys at IA have been doing this a long time. This is the same dyno Ken has been using for all his mods, same dyno operator, etc. Ken told me that stock CSs had been dynoed on that same machine, same operator, around 265 - 270. I don't know what else to say, other than my car dynoed higher.

I should get the dyno chart (both runs on same one) posted on Monday.
