Softronics Dyno Results

I have scaled the Porsche Cayman S Stock torque curve as published in the Cayman S Owner's Manual. The Scaling was done as follows:

Torque in Newton Meters multiplied by 0.738 to get torque in Ft Lbs, then

Torque in Ft Lbs multiplied by 0.88 to approximate drive train losses of 12%.

The results were then plotted on the Softronics Race Plenum Curves and are shown in the graph below. The Owner's manual Stock Torque curve I plotted differs quite a bit from the Siftronics Stock Curve from the dynamoneter for a stock Cayman S. Can anyone explain why????

The dyno Torque Curve for the Softronics Race Plenum & Software does still show a good improvement over the the Owner's manual Stock Torque curve, however it is not as dramatic as I originally thought it was.

I hope someone will double check my calculations and stock Cayman S curve for accuracy, and to make sure I have done this correctly. I would also appreciate any thoughts to help compare the Softronics Race Plenum with Software with the stock Cayman S torque curve.

IMO the curve you plotted is in agreement with the claims Porsche has made for the stock Cayman S and if you look through the Dyno section here at the Cayman Club you will see that there more stock Cayman S dyno charts that also indicate your plot is a good examlpe of expected torque produced by a stock Caynan S.

Thanks for taking the time to post the owners manual infromation in the form of an additional graph for easy comparison, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Porscha1VW

I looked in the dyno section and found a Cayman S stock dyno done at IA and this dyno seemed like a good source since Ken has his dynos done there.

The black line is a stock Cayman S dyno plotted on the Softronics Race Plenum and stock Cayman S dynos and is the same as you did with the owners manual information plot.

Very scientific Elmo. I'm lost on words then again what should I expect from you. Now we can cross check all different types of Dyno's no matter what the make brand or even if it was an engine dyno, wheel or direct axle bolt on. We do not even require base runs lines to plot or anything.

I have nothing else to say on this other than it is a waste of my time.

Aside the primary issues here with doing such...
The "Owners Manual Dyno" is an illustration of the power curve. In other words it means nothing and you should not take it so literary.
I would expect the marketing department had some hand in cleaning up those unattractive bumps and wiggles in the curves!

Huh? This makes zero sense, unless you want to compare the shape of the curves. I am sorry, but you should have dynoed the car pre mods and then same place, post mods.
