We could go around in circles in terms of which dyno is the best... It could be argued that we're not using a MAHA or engine dyno here (the way Porsche tests) but then again much of how these cars are run needs to be addressed in the set up and the supporting accessories (fans etc....). I can't honestly say I've been a big fan of the dynojet and its 18% drive train loss but using them for either tuning and/or to decipher differences is still useful. I still prefer real-world/track tests including 60-130s, 1/4 mile trap speeds (and using the car's weight as a factor).

I agree. Do a rolling start comparison with a stock car and see what you paid for.

My brother's bone stock 480 HP GT-R somehow walked away from a "600HP" NSX on the straights. Riddle me that one, Batman.

A "300RWHP" WRX sti couldn't pull away from my stock cayman S on the straight.

I am actually very happy that this user supplied so many dyno tests, on one car, and they were all over the place because now maybe you guys will understand why I get so worked up when someone says, "well my RWHP is 260, so if I aplly a 15% loss that means I have......" ARRRRRGGHHHH.......!

EVERY dyno you put your car on will deliver different results. Dynamometers are only accurate when comparing properly conducted runs on the same dyno under the same conditions. This member is focussed on the delta, on the change, on the gains, and not on the number. That's the way to use a dyno.

Oh, and sorry to burst your bubble, but it's pretty understood that the dynojet dyno is one of the least accurate. The 'other' one, the Dyno Dynamics, nicknamed 'the heartbreaker', is a sustained load dyno known to be more accurate, but also known to read low, hence the nickname.

Yup. And to quote Frasier Crane: "If less is more, just think how much more MORE would be!"

Softronic is also happy for this users multi testing and it shows exactly how Dyno graphs differ. I ( Scott Slauson) have been stating for years as to dyno's inconsistencies in MANY magazines. This especially applies to dyno's that are not recognized (Owned and labeled by a Tuner). I had written an article several years ago on getting 10 or was it 20 hp from an air freshener. This is all possible on ANY dyno and especially on what tuning companies offer as results.

I have offered for years and stated as such that I would back ANY company that shows the gains they sell upon . This would be exhaust , tuning etc and not ONE has ever asked me to oversee their runs. Why? well I think we know.

Most all quote performance tuning in exhaust , DME, Plenum, air intake etc is a waste of money. This is nothing new from what I have been saying for years for Porsche.

I yes own Softronic and started it to try and offer true and real gains for the owners I have been helping for many years. Do I sell a Cold air intake? No. Do I sell free flow air filters? No. Fuel Ionizers etc .....NO!

Softronic offers all the gains possible for your Porsche in tuning and if we cant get it then it is not possible, period! There is only so much you can change or alter to an engine DME and the rest is all fluff.

I'm just one person that has loved and worked with Porsche cars for over 30 years

Has someone addressed this question?

Doesn't this introduce some serious doubt about drivetrain losses, so much so that Ken thought the car was a 2.7!

when you had your car dynoed with the dynodynamix, they should've given you a printout breaking down the rpm ranges. it should include an A and X factor that was used to adjust for temperature and other environmental factors. could you post those information as well? that might explain your low readings.

Re: Softronic SRP before / after dyno, stock CS

could you post the A and X factors? i'm curious why your read outs are so low. I dyno-ed my car on a Dyno Dynamix stock I didn't experience the low readings that you're experiencing. if you don't want to post publically, feel free to shoot me an e-mail and we can discuss in private.
