Need remote key after all

It's beginning to look like I need that Wilhelmy-IT remote key product already. Within the first 28 hours with my new CS, I've already seen the need for the added trunk delay. While struggling on the garage floor last night to remove those silly "gill" clips and de-snork my car, one trunk or the other opened on 3 different occations from pressure on the key while in my jeans pocket!

During delivery on Thursday, the tech brought the PIWIS unit out on the show room floor to configure the door lock and other settings as I requested them. He had never played around with many of the settings. The default trunk release is 0.7 seconds, but we didn't try changing that. It seemed adequate to me at the time (I was wrong). I've got a printout of all the current '07 987 configurable settings. Some of them don't really work or work as one would hope. For example, if the setting for the remote door unlock is set to unlock the drivers door on one push, it never unlocks the passenger door, even after multiple pushes. I'll write up everything I learned and post it soon.

Other than prying those clips over the buttons to remove the side grill/gill, the de-snorking process was quite simple.

The keys seem particularly sensitive when they're new, and since you just got your car, that's probably the case... although I never had any trunk popping trouble myself, I did get the RemoteKey - primarily for the passenger side rear-view mirror dip when the car is in reverse. It also pretty much eliminates the unwanted trunk/hatch pops. Good product, imho.
