Garmin Nuvi 660 $499 at costco

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...lang=en-US&s=1

Expires June 11, 2007

This is the best deal so far, and Costco has the BEST return policy. For those of you who are interested in this unit, you can try it out and return if you are not happy with it. I almost bought it at amazon.com which also has a nice price-adjustment policy, but the price and return policy at costco are better with the sale.

It's also available at Costco stores, but you probably need the coupon book.

That is a great deal! Just be aware that Costco's return policy on electronics changed recently. It is now 90 days from date of purchase with receipt. That being said, I am getting one for my Dad for Father's Day.

As far as I know, costco only has the 90 days policy on these products:

Quote:
Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. Exceptions: Televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD / MP3 players and cellular phones must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund.
When I checked out it says the product is eligible for the "satisfaction" return period which does not mention 90 days:

Quote:
This item is covered by Costco's guarantee to refund your purchase price if you are not completely satisfied. Costco's guarantee applies, even though this item may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, because Costco is not an "authorized" dealer of the merchandise.
If you added a computer to your cart, it would state 90 days only. Hope this helps.

Anyone ever mount one of these in a CS?

I am assuming one can't set this in-dash and would have to have it mounted somewhere. Any thoughts? TIA>

Check out www.proclips.com for mounts and if you have the time read all 37 pages over here: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/t...TOPIC_ID=46749 or to save time look at: Aftermarket Navigation System Mounting Location?

This price is really good. I'm tempted to add another one for other cars but I know that the features of the next generation models is going to be worth waiting for and then I'll have two..

The ProClip seems like a good solution if I don't mount it on the windshield. The vehicle clip + device clip + extension add up to $70 + $9 shipping which seems a little bit too high. Group buy anyone?

What are the features of next-generation models that will be worth waiting for?

Better reception, continued navigation if the signal is lost, easier POI updates, maps that intergrate with software like Google maps that show photos of where you are and who knows what else. I wouldn't wait since I have the 660 but it might be worth waiting for the next generation for my other cars (although I still have trouble being two places at once..)

Thanks guys, I just ordered one. I'd been thinking about getting one after seeing how cool they were on peoples' cars at the Rock'n'Croc Rally.

For anyone considering it, act now. This price is about $100 less than anywhere else, but the deal expires today!

Can a European map be loaded on to this? Effectively making this a nuvi 670? Does anyone know the Costco price for the 670?

For those of you that missed the sale date you can get it here for $569. I have ordered from them before with great results:
