No MP3 CD support for the bose (non Nav)

Ok so i picked my cayman s up last week and i thought after reading on here that our cars can play MP3 CDs in the single disc. I have the Bose with no PCM or NAV, and no changer.

Everytime I put an MP3 CD (that works great in my M45) it wont play anything and reads "STOP" on the display. Even if i keep pressing CD button, or eject and re-insert they will not play. Could it be the type of CD-R I used>?

Does anyone else have this issue?

Also I want to hook up the Denison, will I be ok with the configuration I have to do that (just to play, not to display or control the songs).

Thanks for helping a Newbie out.

I love this car, but this lack of ipod integration is so frikken lame.

The CD player with the nav system will play MP3s, the one you have (and I have, too) will not.

I have the exact same configuration as you and was just as disappointed with the 20th century electronics as you are. I connected the Dension unit and everything is "irie mon"

The connection to the fiber cable is very easy with the Bose system, as you can do it at the connection to the amplifier.

the MP3 CDs are nice -- and definitely better than having no MP3 playing capability at all, but the Dension 500 is *much* better. BTW, don't forget to include the price of an iPod (if you don't have one) in your estimate

Installation can be rather affordable depending upon how you want it installed...
