Thumbs up Another AVIC D3 success!!

Ok mine took a bit longer than TresX's install (4 hours), but to me it was well worth saving the $150 to have an installer do it! The best part is, after all my time and effort, on the first turn of the key it all came on and operates perfectly!! This to me is part of the fun and joy of owning cars-if possible, I enjoy doing as much work as I can myself

I want to really thank all those who helped and answered all my annoying questions in previous threads and PM's!! That is why I absolutely love this forum-everyone is so helpful and seem to love cars and working on them as much as I do

I do however still have the CAN BUS that I ended up NOT using. If someone wants it, I can sell it to you for half price-$125

This unit absolutely rocks just as everyone else has shared! And the dash kit from Japan is a great match; unit actually looks like it belongs in the Porsche. Very user friendly and most of all, I am just happy to have access to my iPod again The Nav is also SPOT ON ACCURATE! It is more accurate than the Garmin Nuvi 350 I bought for the wife

Did you get Sat? if so how/where did you mount the antenna? I would assume the nav antenna is on the dash.

Did you take any pics?

I've got an AVIC Z1 in my truck and would love to have something of that nature in the CS.

No satellite for me-I am strictly a iPod guy! For the Nav, I put the antennae under the cowl in front of the windshield
