Nav-TV's Tooki Bluetooth kit

Hi,

Anyone here who has any info regarding Nav-TV's "Tooki" Bluetooth kit?

It seems fairly new and from what I can read on Nav-TV's webpage, it looks promising and well integrated with the PCM:

TOOKI Bluetooth Kit (there is a users manual for download here)

It is based on a Parrot BT platform. I have found the Parrot devices fairly good after three installs in a Volvo, BMW Z3 and a Jaguar XJR, but since the "Tooki" is more integrated in the PCM, I am curious how it works with, for instance, the multi-function steering wheel, the passive handset, voice recognition in the phone etc.

Any input, rumours and suggestions for other kits appreciated!

Thanx,

/Sven

I posted a little about it yesterday. I don't have it, but I read a bit about it from their site and the Suncoast site. Suncoast is selling it now, at a cost of $750. Thats a little too pricey for me, but it may fit the bill for you. The only confusing part so far is that I read it requires the GSM module for PCM. That may or may not be correct.

after digging some posts with the help of google it seems that thei unit emulate the porsche phone module as a "phone node" at the MOST bus, which means that the OEM phone module is not required

are you getting it installed by suncoast or by yourself? if you do it by yourself, can you post a guide?
i would also appreciate if you could send the installation guide since it's not available on NAV-TV's website

I actually ordered the PCM, Tooki and iPod and will have my local dealer install it since I currently do not have PCM installed.

Installed Today

I just had one installed earlier today. It is just great! The display looks factory and does all it's advertised to do. My phone book downloaded completely and is so EZ to access. Tested the microphone and it sounds really good to the party on the other end. I don't see how it could be any better even considering the few things it doesn't support. Got a factory QUALITY installation at porschetunes@aol.com in Monrovia CA. Ask for Jamey. They do a flawless job.

is the tooki able to use the factory original microphone on the sides of the steering wheel or it is part of the installation to install a dedicated microphone?

Lawnmore: Do you have the multi function steering wheel? Does the Tooki work with its buttons?

I believe I have seen a post on another board that refers to the use of the Porsche mic in lieu of the supplied one.

That said, the mic is different to that fitted to the BOSE stereo equipped cars and requires a modification to the plug before it will work with the Tooki.

The post also states that the use of the supplied mic in the steering column fitting ie behind the grill, does not work particularly well.

I cannot recall if the Tooki works well with the Porsche mic fitted in the steering column.

nick, it would be nice if you can find this post about the mic, i think it sould be really nice if it would be possable to use the internal mic without messing with wires.. but i guess it's not that easy.
