XM Radio Success!

I just picked up my Cayman from having the Cayenne factory XM module installed which works perfectly with the PCM and sounds terrific! Not a cheap installation but works factory/looks factory. See details on a 997at:

or PM me for more info or the name of my installation facility. I couldn't be happier

hjk3,

Rather than send us a link to a very long thread that winds up not having any pictures or info about the install how about adding some pictures to the thread HERE, as well as telling everyone about the install, what it costs, what the part #'s were, etc. etc. that would be more useful than the link posted. Thanks!

I used the Cayenne XM kit, part number 955.044.900.37 (XM Kit without CD Changer)but needed the extra cable that comes in the kit with the CD Changer 955.044.900.68. The kit retails for $1000 but can be had with a PCA discount. The install was about $500 by a dealership tech. Links into the MOST bus by daisy chaining with nav module and needs to be properly setup by PIWIS computer. Access the XM by cycling through the AM/FM button and has presets just like for FM channels. Reads out station or artist on speedo display. Gives detailed song info under radiotext. In other words, does everything a Cayenne set does. Will post pictures soon.

Wow - this is great news for those of us going for the PCM... not cheap, but well-integrated like a Porsche should be. Still waiting for the iPod fix, though. ==RedEye

I definitely wouldn't do it right away due to high cost, but a year or so down the road I might. Maybe by then parts and labor may be cheaper too.
