aftermarket install?

I have an '09 Cayman 2.7 on order. I think I have time to modify the order since I was originally scheduled for an '08 until Porsche rescinded the allocation. That being the case, I'm considering canceling the Bose, starting with a clean sheet, and having a very well thought of installer put together an aftermarket system. I'd like to know if others have gone this route, and what their experiences were and how happy they are with the results. Would they do it again, and what's the price differential?

Thanks Stevie
I had searched the threads I could find, but overlooked Articles.

Having evolved into something faintly resembling a dinosaur, your project seems to me something out of the 29th century. Moreover, it seems that the basic audio set-up comes with the car--I've ordered cars in the past that were wired but without any radio or anything, and that was what I was initially thinking about. So now I'm considering working around the head unit that comes with the car, and putting in a good amp and a set of 6 speakers. I'm looking for something that will give me good sound to listen to, whether from radio or cds. Any suggestions?

Price of course is a consideration, but some of the other stuff that you installed--like a nice screen--I'm leery of partly because the more stuff you have to play with, the more likely you're going to take your eye off the road at the wrong time. Each to his own.
