Nav System Install Costs

Hi,

I recently contacted a local audio installer that was recommended by several people here on the forums (Jamey Rawlings in Pasadena, CA) to see what the costs would be to get a new Pioneer Nav system. He quoted me a price of $2,550. The system he wants to use has an MSRP of $1,100 (it's the Avic f900bt--I looked up the price on Pioneer's website). He would have to do a custom bezel for the install (since I have the standard factory radio/CD player); but, other than that, I just don't understand why this is so expensive. Surely the custom bezel can't be any more than $300 or $400 (I've seen companies selling such kits for Porsche's on the web for $200-$350). Surely, he can't be charging more than a grand for installation--several other people have indicated he knows his stuff and is a good guy. Is this reasonable (or am I missing some major costs here)?

Do you have the sound package plus or Bose?

Will he be adding amps or a subwoofer with the install?

No sound package/Bose (so the install should be easier). The price doesn't include an amp/install. I actually got a price quoted by caraudioconnections in the Bay Area that was only $125 for the bezel and $285 for installation of the head unit, but this person indicated that my car would require a new amp and install (and he quoted me $1,000 for the amp, $245 for installing the amp, and $145 for wiring/harness for the amp). That's why I'm thinking that the quote above is a little high (since it doesn't include the amp).
