XM XpressRC issues

Hello all,

I bought a new XM reciever and am having some issues. First off, the mount fits nicely on the dashboard, but the double sided tape that it comes with will not stick. I even tried my own tape and the same thing. How slick is our dash?
Anyone have other mounting ideas? pics? tricks?

Second, and most important...the reception over the FM modulator is awful. I know its not the greatest anyway, but I listen mostly for sports and talk radio. I know XM sells SureConnect, which clips onto your FM antenna, but where the heck is the FM antenna in the CS?

Thanks everyone!!

Try using double sided velcro; you can get industrial strength stuff at home depot/lowes.

You need to use a wired FM modulator instead of a wireless that will plug in behind the headunit to the antenna lead. Do a search for more details on how to install it, or most big box electronic store will do it for under $100. You can't use a "Sureconnect" type solution b\c the FM antenna in the Cayman and most luxury cars is in the rear windshield.

Thanks Suneet, I will call Best Buy this weekend.

I have the CDR24 with Bose, does that make it tougher to do?

No the beauty of a wired FM modulator is it works through the antenna lead, which every car head-unit has.

The functionality will be the same as you have now; sound will come through a radio station. However the sound will be much better, because it's hardwired and there is no static or signal bleeding.
