Escort typically doesn't do group buys, but I don't see why they wouldn't add this product to the list that our members can get at a discount through the certified suppliers. The next time I speak with them I will ask as we have some other items coming from them shortly.

I didn't get a call back from Escort today, hopefully tomorrow, but I think the ONLY way they would consider doing this is if everyone purchased through one of the dealer resellers in question and that maybe (and it is a maybe) if a certain minimum number sold were guaranteed that Escort could give the resller some additional savings which could be passed on to the buyers. The problem is that even if they did that, they couldn't/wouldn't advertise how much of a savings it would be, the best they could do would be "10 buyers = additional savings, 20 buyers = additional savings" etc. but you wouldn't know how much until you actually placed your order. They might also have to wait until all orders were placed to guarantee the numbers before shipping, etc. Lots of hurdles to overcome with such an idea on this one.

Been searching all over for best price on existing 9500i, doesn't seem to be much difference anywhere. Probably same for 9500ix.

Although it is a royal pain, maybe start a list of members who would buy (regardless of discount level) and their preferred dealership? So...

9500i was supposed to upgraeadable... still waiting here. I assume 9500i and 9500ix are the same except for firmware. Lets see if Escort comes through.

Apologies for spelling mistakes, most of them are keyboarding errors. To enjoy this forum I run out of time to proof read.

Last year when there was a group buy on the Passport 9500i, I purchased mine from The Exchange, in Illinois. I called today to see if they were going to do the same for the 9500ix. I was told they might do the same because they sold a lot of the 9500i units. Will keep you updated.

I've read some posts comparing the diff btwn Valentine and Escort Passports. Do you think that the new 9500iX now makes it equal or better than Valentine's? Has anyone ever been able to do a group buy for the Valentine? I'm looking to get one soon, so I've been reading up on this stuff a little bit, it strikes me (not 100% educated on the issue) that the Valentine's seem to be judged superior. What's your take?
