Will a 2008 Nav disk work in a 2006?

I posted this in the electronics section and haven't received any responses.

Does anyone know if nav disk part number 997.642.257.05 out of a 2008 will work in a 2006 cayman?

The part number on my current disk is 997.642.257.02 My disk is unreadable. Thanks for any help

It should work as long as your PCM is updated to the latest software; last December a TSB was released titled navigation update; number 9110, part id 29/07. It outlines the procedure to upgrade the PCM to "Model Improvement B software" using an update cd (p/n 000.044.901.40)... after this the new nav dvd will work and old ones will not.

If you're under warranty, the dealer should do this for free if not done already.
