I have been looking through the forum and I can't seem to find the answer to my question, so I thought I would just ask.

I purchased a pre-owned Cayman S and I'm not really sure which sound system I have. I know I have 9 visable speakers (2 in each door, 3 in the front dash and 2 in the back). On the door speakers, it says "BOSE". So I am confused. Do I have the 9 speaker Sound Package Plus, or do I have the 10 speaker BOSE system? If I have the BOSE system, where is the 10th speaker?

Also, on a similar note... does the in dash CD player play MP3s? I read some things that say it does, and others that say it does not.

The 10th speaker for the BOSE system is the subwoofer in the passenger's side foot space. I have the PCM 2.1 and I can tell you my CD player does play MP3s. The easiest way to find out if yours does is to just put one in and see if it plays.

If you have the CDR-24 (AM-FM-CD unit, no nav system or big screen interface like PCM), no it can't play discs with MP3. If you have the nav system (PCM 2.1) you should.

Really weird that the BOSE system wouldnt play mp3 without PCM!!
