Monster RadioPlay 300

I just bought one of these and been using it for a little while now, work for me well enough until I get an aftermarket navi system with mp3 and usb. My question is, is it ok just to leave it plugged in all the time in the 12V plug on the passenger side. That plug is always on, so the unit does not power down when I turn off the car. Will it drain my battery if left plugged over night? Right now I just unplug it all the time.

It might be okay if you drive your car daily, but I still wouldn't risk it. The owners manual says you should not leave an accessory plugged in for more than five minutes after the car is shut off.

I'd hardwire it into the fuse box on a switched fuse so you don't have to bother. You can actually buy a 12v socket from radioshack and just hardwire it into a switched fuse in the fusebox and plug whatever you want into it.

Honestly, I have left so many things plugged in there for such a long time before installing my AVIC-D3, and NEVER had a problem, even after leaving them on for more than a week at a time.

Things like these are such a small drain that it will last a while, as soon as the car is started and driven for a while, the battery is charged right back up.

This is only a temporary solution to listen to my mp3s until I get another headunit, so no hardwiring. Will try to test it out one night and see if it drains my battery or not. Thanks for all your replies and suggestions.
