I'm not quite sure what you mean here ' Have you ordered in a porsche dealer?'
If you mean, did I have the dealer do it? Yes I did. They ordered all the parts and did the install. They thought they would have it done in one day but it took two. This was the first time they had done it.
I have a PCM and the Telephone module is not active/available (according to read-out on display). What is involved to get the phone portion of the PCM working? Anyone know price? Is it really $2500? That seems pretty steep since it would seem that all is involved is a software upgrade and maybe a cell antenna.
Anyone have some insight?
Suneet, this seems right up your alley.

Tx, I was actually looking at the wiring diagrams and tsbs the other day (TSB 9155) the other day and it looks like they add a fiber optic phone control module (part number 99704490061, retail price: $1,562.62; this part number includes the antenna, harnesses, screws, etc) that goes under the seat that interfaces with a telephone antenna and the built in mic, you can choose to add a handset as well and connect it to the phone module or just use the handsfree system and PCM numberpad. The phone module connects into the fiber optic loop (you need part number 99762270300, retail price $126.84, those without nav or cd changer need part number 99762270300), allowing you to control it via PCM, or the multifunction steering wheel if you have it. It automatically mutes audio, shows the call in the center display, etc.
So with about $1,700 in parts and a few hours of labor, 460 TU, I havn't figured out how to intrepret Porsche's cryptic labor time markings...but in comparison, the short shifter install is 100TU.
IMHO... not worth it, get the Dension unit and the soon to come bluetooth module, or just add a Parrot or Bluetooth module like others have done. You get hands free talking without having to get a cloned sim-card, separate account for your car, or having to keep switching your sim-card from your phone to your car.

I knew it was right up your alley. Thanks for the info, I was afraid this was going to be the case. Any idea when the Dension unit will have Bluetooth?

Their classic response: Right around the corner Both GW500 (who I'm pretty sure works at Dension) and Eric@bumperplugs have said it should be shipping soon; I read on another forum (rennteam) that it's supossed to ship sometime this month or next.

Instead of the Dension and Bluetooth adapter, does anyone, particularly Suneet have any idea whether Parrot's new MultiCAN interface will work in our Cayman's with the multifunction steering wheel? I don't see any reason why not, but I was hoping someone with more "knowledge" can help me...
Just updating this old thread... everybody either knows or should know that the Tooki phone module is now out and emulates the Porsche phone module while providing you bluetooth. It works with all the features of the PCM tel menu; send\end buttons, including send\end buttons on the steering wheel if you have the multifunction steering wheel.
Sold by sponsor Bumperplugs from around $750, sometimes cheaper during group buys and sales.
