Cayman S dual exhaust tips

I removed my Cayman S dual exhaust tips after I burned my leg on it taking something out of my back trunk. The car seems to be quieter without the tip. When looking at the tip it seems that there is a narrowing in the "Y" section. Is there any restriction compared with the open straight pipe? Has anyone dynoed a car without the "Y" shaped tip? It looks kind of naked without the tip.

Thanks,
-Paul Ho
