PSS9 and Camber Plates

Anyone using camber plates with PSS9's.

Do the springs make noise during some turns are they readjust position?

I used the Mantis camber plates. They did not have the correct spring perch. The alignment shop made some but they make noise. Trying to figure out whether or not the noise cam be eliminated. Also trying to figure out other camber plate suppliers.

Let me know what you find out, I want to do camber plates at some point too, but want to do ones for my PSS Damptronic system. I would "think" that camber plates for say a 911 with PSS9 would work just fine, our front clips are the same. Certainly someone must make those?

The Racers Group (TRG) makes some, and TC Design in Milpitas, CA can fabricate some for you as well. You might want to ping mooty about them, I believe he has run custom monoball perches on his Cayman for a good amount of miles.

GT3 Camber Plates

I installed Porsche factory 997-GT3 camber plates.
I was able to get -3 degrees of camber on the front.

There was squeaking from the Bilstein upper nut rubbing on the car metalwork. I backed the camber off to-2 and it stopped.

But then I installed a slimmer upper mounting nut, also a Porsche Factory GT-3 part and reset the camber to -3 degrees.

I had the Porsche Dealer do all the work.

How much are GT3 camber plates? I think most aftermarket plates are around $400. I am also looking at the Damptonic w/camber plates.

GT3 monoball camber plates (aka: AS support Bearings)
Porsche part number 997-343-011-94 $337.65 each.

You also need a 996-343-511-90 shock spring hat $86.71 each

Plus a few hardware odds and ends to complete the install.
Let me know if you need a complete list.

For owners with PSS9, how do you like them? I am debating between PSS9 or the KW V3 for my car. I do plan to track the cayman at least 5-7 times year. I had KW V3 on my bimmer, and they are great. Haven't try PSS9 yet, at the stiffest setting, how is the body lean?

Tks

Camber Plates for PSS9?

So, what is the verdict with Camber Plates? I have a set of PSS9's on back order, and should get them in about a month. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out if I will need them.

I am planning on running the ride hight approximately 1.25" lower on all 4 corners.

Does anyone else have a similar setup, and if so, do you have aggressive tire wear from negative camber?

I only plan on tracking/auto crossing my car occassionally. Mostly a street car.

Thanks for the advice.

Brian

I have the GT3 camber plates and GT3 perches installed with the PSS9 with the car lowered about 40mm, but its a track car with the pss9 bumpstops shortened.

If you are a track novice, you won't need to modify the bumpstops, but an advanced can bottom out the suspension in high speed turns. But lowered that much, you could bottom out the shocks on street bumps.

For mostly street use, I would be more conservative on the ride height and the negative camber. I would guess that about -1.5 neg camber would be good. You will need to watch for wear and rotate tires often, if you don't track it enough to balance the inside and outside wear.
