Toe/Blip..Almost

I just placed an order today with Ultimate Pedals for an extended gas pedal. The side is exteded 3/4 of an inch over stock. I am hoping this will allow me to toe brake and then blip the gas pedal with the side of my foor while down shifting. Anyone out there have the extended variety?

I found the stock pedal placement to be well suited for heel toeing.

I have to second that. Stock pedals are perfect for heel toeing.

i think what sjij is saying is that he's not actually heel toe'ing.....he wants to use the outer edge of his foot to blip the gas rather than using his heel. I too think the stock pedals are in the right placement for heel toe'ing

I'm also looking at Ultimate pedals. I know the stock pedals are good enough for heel/toe but are dull looking when you get in the car. I also looking at the rennline models with red extensions. I think it'll go good with my red CS.

Thats exactly what I'm saying. Due to extremely stiff angles and seating possition its is impossible for me to do a conventional heel toe action. So the other way is to roll the foot over to the gas pedal. Maybe its my feet but I allso find this difficult since there is a large gap between the gas pedal and the brake. We'll see what happens when I receive the pedal.

According to an article in the magazine Modified Luxury and Exotics, your heel is not actually used in "heel and toe" shifting. It is the outer edge of your foot that pushes that gas. I always thought that your heel was used until I read this. However, I use the outer edge of my foot, too and find that the pedals on the Cayman are laid out perfectly.

one should not generalize it to that degree. it depends on pedal placement. i use the side of my foot in the cayman, but do use my heel in my 911.

All depends. In some cars I use the side of my foot, in others the heel.

Also, the type of shoe makes a difference, thinner ones like Puma forces the use of heel and Pilotis, that are wider let you get away with the side of the foot.

Has anyone gone with the Rennline pedals?

They look really nice in the ads/web site, and for the gas pedal they have the side extensions as well as a way to adjust the height............ When I checked I think the full pedal set, with extensions and height adjustment feature was about $300.
