Question X-51

Now, knowing that the X-51 package allows a 3.8 L a red line of 8,200 RPM { That's SINGING! }, and remembering that a private racing outfit in Deutschland adapted and raced an X-51 equipped 3.4 L CS,

I want to know what the red-line of an X-51 equipped 3.4 L is?

I want to know how adaptable the X-51 package is for the stock 3.4 L CS engine?

BTW, I think Porsche has Gold Mine here with the CC:

Ive been looking into the X51 parts also with the idea to add the X51 Intake assembly to the 3.4S.

You want to bolt on bits or rebuild it like proper X51? Only a rebuild will give more redline.

I am so ignorant about this. However, it only makes sense to me that a rebuild is required to get that red line up. What is involved in the rebuilding? Parts, "procedures" and labor?

The CSR Race team in Germany ran their 3.4L with the X51 kit installed which I believe is different cams and other engine internals in addition to the different intake, along with some custom programming which would probably be the hardest part getting programming to make the engine run right with the X51 adapted to the 3.4L.

This idea of building her up really sucks. It is a waste. So many good parts need to be tossed aside. I think that I prefer to wait for Porsche to build it the way I want it. I learned a long time ago that buying and building can be a nightmare. My philosophy is buy it the way you want it and get it sorted BEFORE you buy it. Thanks for the input.

My dealer of t-t-p tuning in Athens told me that you can put the X-51 intake and cams but you don t gain too much power for the money you have to pay!

just drive the car as is. in another year, you will blow the motor up i am serious, with your type of track mileage.

then just stuff in a crate 3.8L x51, then done.
