I keep seeing ads for like new/ used Miltek and other brands of exaust systems for sale. I am curious as to the reason for this. Are owners going back to stock because of noise issues or changing to Capristo which seems to be the hot choice at the moment?
Capristo
Capristo exhaust systems for the Cayman. The Capristo valve system allows the Cayman to be relatively quiet in cruise speeds but to sound like an F1 car when the valves are open.
Most probably due to the excess noise, but I would guess some is looking into upgrading to a 911 or something, so they are parting out the car.
Miltek and AWE are great exhaust in their right. Capristo is one of better ones out there for CS. But IMO Kreissieg is the BEST sounding exhaust period! Check out the link below, expensive yes, but the sound is priceless!
Click on their video for the exhaust, as close to F1 as it comes!

Not very quiet but I've gotta agree that the sound is great!

Nothing against that one, but I think the Capristo sounds just as good, if not better, is programmable, weighs less, and has verified hp/torque gains on independent dynos. Stand behind a Capristo sometime with the valves open and you'll feel what F1 is all about...

Haven't heard Capristo in person, but from your video, it sounds pretty good! Capristo does gain HP, while the Kreissieg doesn't gain much, if any at all.
I sat in my friend's e46 M3 with the Kreissieg, the exhaust sound is unreal, very ferrari like. If I were looking to spend $5500 for an exhaust, its going to be Kreissieg or Capristo. And yes its LOUD, but it make the driving experience that much better! Only wish my supersprint race were louder... oh well..

I still don't get why one would want to change the thump, thump Porsche sound to the shrill Ferrari sound. Enhance the thump yes, dilute it to Italian I don't understand. To each his own of course.

Normally I would not deviate from stock but the Capristo sounds really bad @ss!!!. With HP to boot. I see every other brand except for Capristo for sale as new/used in the classified. Other than Borla are there any other major players developing a CS exaust at present?? If I keep this car I willl opt for an aftermarket exhaust system and some other mods. Its an old argument but everytime I get into my car I lust for more power with this chassis and body configuration.
