What is wrong with the original control unit? The 997GT RS PASM control unit has different programming in it than the Cayman so you'd have to change programming or it wouldn't function like it is supposed to. Would it function better or worse with the 997 GT3 programming in it but placed in a Cayman? I would suspect worse but only way to know would be to try.

The RS has different equipment that the control unit is governing. Different spring rates, longer stroke, different valving, etc. It would only be beneficial if you were able to mimic the other parts of the system. you are much better off just getting the PSS system.
