exhaust mods for base Cayman

Thanks all for the info.

Looks like I am going to pursue this. One question I am having problems finding a thread in the forums is the difference between cat-back systems and full systems w/headers. The price diff is Wow!. Does the HP increases come from the full system only? I am pretty sure I want the Milltek.

Hey Sureform My recording of My Remus is in U-Tube (Porsche Cayman Remus) posted yesterday ok . After doing a lot of listening and research I wish I had got the Capristo Exhaust though .If It fits the Budget Get The Capristo,Nothing has come even close to its overall Quality,Sound and performance.

Prodgers, your cayman sounds awesome!! one question though, is your cayman an "S" or "non S"?? What about the fit and finish of your exhaust?? Do you describe the sound as deep or high pitch?? Price?? and one last favor... can you please post another video of the car while in motion (acceleration, flyby, etc)....?

Thanks a lot and congratulations!

My Car Is a base model with chrono package and sport mode feature.I have seen The Remus Exhaust go for $1,495 at places online.the installation is about $400.00 to $500.00.I paid $2,500 Including Installation so I got a little Ripped.I actually did some research and called some Remus Owners before I put it on my car. There was one guy in piticular that had 4 Porsches and races them and he put them on his CS and he knew all about the Company and sold me on it.The Quality is A+ Thats what sold me on it other than the sound. when you Rev it up over 4500 rpm is is a higher pitch that is where it sounds best ,I think when Idiling it is a lower sound though so it really has a mix of both.I always have the RPM pretty high so I will record a In cabin Video as well as a street run ok.

I would suggest visiting the ARTICLES section and reading through some prior exhaust system installs. You can get power increase or decrease with an exhaust system depending upon what you install. The Milltek cat-back system was good for around 12hp on my car, the headers another 8hp or so, which means a combo should get you the most hp, but that you will get some improvement from just catback only. Keep in mind that if you go with headers you will need some solution for the second O2 sensor tripping the CEL. I used ECU tuning from Softronic to solve that annoyance but there are other solutions as well.

As K-Man S said, if you take a look at some of the articles you will see that there have been many reported hp gains with just catback systems. It appears that this is due to the fact that most aftermarket systems eliminate the second set of cat converters that are inside our factory exhaust systems.

The exhaust parts on the Cayman and Cayman S are the same, so any system that fits an S will also fit a 2.7. However, the 2.7 is less likely to be bottlenecked by the factory exhaust, so the gains on a 2.7 are not likely to be as significant. Maybe you can help us start to document the possible gains on a 2.7. You'd be doing your other 2.7 owning brothers a service. What do you say?

Prodgers, thanks for your quick response. I am really interested now in the exhaust... and would really appreciate the video of the car running. Thanks!
