Vinyl design

My brother is into stupid mercedes
the steps to vinyl automobile design...

After: Dropped about 1.5 additional inches, rims sized up to 21" and vinyl design. It's probably too much but I'm just experimenting...

I'm a graphic designer, been using photoshop since I was 14 years old (version2.0). It's all about making clean selections and using the pen tool to draw complex shapes. This should help you...

There is tons of other details I'm leaving out but it would take too long to illustrate the entire process.

I like this one better than the first. Follows the original lines better and emphasizes the lines. Went back to the original 19" wheels on this one. WHat do you all think?

his sig is pretty cool but it wont work here

Ed,
I would lose the black vinyl between your center opening and your GT3 grill, it washes out your GT3 grill piece, start your black from there. Secondly, didn't see any graphics items arrive today, when are they due?

Ed,

Looks like you are the vinyl pro out there. A few questions for you, as I am looking at adding vinyl to colour both my stock rear wing and the TechArt Type 1 spoiler that I have. Also thinking about doing the mirrors. My CS is GT Silver and I'm toying with doing the pieces in the same red that Flying Lizard uses on their RSR's.

1. When you remove the vinyl at a latter date, are there any traces left that it used to be there? Like discolouring, residue, etc?

2. How does the vinyl conform to the sharp curves that one would see on pieces like the spoiler and rear view mirrors?

3. Could a person do it themselves or would you recommend a pro do it?

Thx for any info.

1. As long as you take car of your paint you cannot tell a difference, the parts covered by vinyl are protected. If you dont wax the parts that are uncovered there will be fading and swirls on that exposed paint. Some glue will have to be peeled off which is very simple.

2. Good quality vinyl can curve around corners and mirrors, a heat gun is recommended.

3. Large vinyl designs like my first set "killer whale" should be done by a pro. The set in my article can be done by anyone who has the patience to do it.

hope this helps. Any shop that does clearbras and tint is USUALLY a good shop to install large body vinyls.
