Thumbs up Great Winter Mats!

So I'm sure some of you have already ordered these, but for those of you who haven't, I was blown away by the fit of these WeatherTech mats. Actually the website call them floor liners and they will be great up here in Toronto where I plan to drive the Cayman through a salty, slushy Canadian Winter. They come up very high in the sides and and will keep all the water in. Other mats spill over and leave salt/calcium stains on your rug that never come out. I'm so impressed with how well these fit.

Also, I was upset that Porsche didn't make a winter mat - despite the fact they advise that their cars can be driven year round and specify snow tires.

Anyway, just wanted to share a great find with the rest of you looking for winter mats.

I think they're about $100US or $140CDN tax in w/shipping.

P.S. I do not work for the company! Even though this almost sounds like a damn testimonial. LOL.

Any colored mats besides black? They seem snug fit, great find!

There are a VERY snug fit. They come in light grey and beige also. I kind of ordered them spur of the moment and didn't know if they'd be any good, but I'm really pleased with them.

Actually Porsche do a rubber mat for the cayman.... (See attached)

Ok, it isn't advertised in the US, the photo is from the German Tequipment for the Cayman. However you can order them from Pelican Parts or similar suppliers:

Part Numbers are:

987 044 800 93 - Non Bose - $77.63 (This part number is also for the Boxster mats)
987 044 800 94 - With Bose - $77.63

Looks like all that would protect your Porsche from is the cold.

Seriously, is there any side containment at all? Looks like it would run right out.

This maybe true, but for those guys looking for the stock option, there is a Porsche solution, you just have to poke around the European sites.

I bought clear floor mat protectors for winter, since it rains occasionally in Seattle. I found them at usspeed.com. They also carry a full line of embroidered mats in a gazillion colors. The only problem with the clear mats is that they have been out-gassing for a week, and it smells like a skunk was in my car . Hopefully, the oder will abate sometime soon. Stinky in Seattle.

Thumbs up WeatherTech Mats

I've had the WeatherTechs in 2 of my other cars and they are great - they fit like a glove, don't slide around, and can hold about a gallon of water - or whatever else you might spill on them.

I wanted those but because of the Bose in the passenger footwell, I had to get the regular WeatherTechs.

It does not fit if the car has the BOSE lo-fi option?

No it does not. The Bose surround system has an extra speaker protruding into the left side of the passenger footwell.
The regular WeatherTechs have fittings for Caymans with and without Bose.

Yes it does.
It fits even with the BOSE.

I just made a cut-out for the BOSE on the passenger side floorliner, and then it fits perfect.

Can't have carpet on the floor in a true sports car, which is used for skiing and mountaineering and people entering the car with wet and muddy shoes..
