Just finished day two of driving with this system, cat back only. Good news, bad news.
Good News:
Great folks at FabSpeed, friendly, knowledgeable, fast service.
Product quality is great. The shop that did the install (2 hrs) was very impressed as well. All the key joints are on hinges that move making the install a breeze. All polished stainless, spectacular.
Great sound at full song.
THEY claim 8 hp increase for a Cayman normal, 13 or so for an S.
Bad News:
Same as my issues with the 996 system I had 3 yrs ago, the droning at low RPMs. In my commute it just so happens that I spend a fair amount of time in 3rd (5 sp) around 2500 rpm (35-37 mph, back streets) which is deadly with this system...loud deep droning inside the car. Wifey is not going to be very impressed, this I know. It's also worse than the 996 as the engine is just behind your head.
Verdict...too soon to tell, but my guess is I'll keep it. If I could have test driven it first I might not have bought it, let's put it that way. I would have preferred something a little more toned down. And more along the higher, Ferrari pitch tone of a Tubi. This sounds more like a Mustang exhaust, very deep, a bit too NASCAR-esque if there is such a thing!
I'll chine back in later, in a week or so, and give a second report....

Thats exactly what I would describe the TUBI, I like it !! But make no mistake, it has also some drone at same RPMS. Not annoying, but there. Its a compromise. But the outcome is pure heaven. I cant wait to see how it will sound after the install my LFW !

I just put the Fabspeed on my car and I love it, even the drone. It makes the car seem more alive to me, and it sure sounds great when you blip the throttle!!! I may throw the headers on now to open it up a bit more.

As I just bought the FabSpeed system, I'd have to assume it's the 'newer' version, and it does look more familiar. But since I didn't install it myself I can't be absolutely certain. I haven't driven the car since my first notes above, so hopefully I can come back with a second impression for folks next week.

I have the new version and it's been on the car for a couple of months. Yes, there is that drone in mid 2k range, but this not being a daily driver doesn't bother me in the least bit.
I have had several people (that I don't know) tell me how good it sounds.
When I get home and pull in the garage I always give it one last blip.
Drove the car quite a bit today. Great sounding exhaust, let's face it! Getting a bit more used to the droning, and how to minimize it...but it's something you have to work on. This is my daily driver. So, think about that if you're on the fence. It's a close call for a daily driver.
But sweet Jeeeeezuz, open it up and it's a symphony.
Your call....
