Cayman ordered, Exige 2nd...

I have finally gone for the Cayman after testdriving both cars extensively and weighing up every possible circumstance. I have been viewing both this site and the exiges.com site for almost all of 2007 with fascinating interest!

My modifaication query is simple (and I have trawled the threads on reducing weight already) - can I remove 50kg from a 2.7l Cayman (18's, PASM, 6spd and sound pack plus)???? But NOT by replacing the seats, wheels, susp or brakes with lighter alteratives.

Could I realistically remove 25kg of sound ins? or is this a wild over estimation? Considering the waves and waves of carpet/ins in the rear, surely this is a starting point?

I'm sure this will be the start of my mod curiosity and will no doubt lead to replacing other items - but for now just curious of how much weight can be 'realistically' removed.

Well, the carpet could go, I guess. No leather. Carbon fiber doors, perhaps.

I know that you didn't want to change tires or wheels, but you should select the lightest from the options available on a Cayman. I thought about getting Carrera Sport wheels on my CS, but the Carrera S wheels are lighter ...
