Tinting the Rear tail Lights

I was dead set on doing the whole rear tail lights but after seeing KaiMeN::S rear tail lights where he cut around the reverse that looks COOL!! but I wonder if the color of the car would matter? his is white mine is black but I do have Brushed aluminum vents and part of my mirrors black wheels with chrome lips (See my thumbnails) Any Opinions would help Thanks .

I think it would work well on black. And I see no reason why it wouldn't work on yours. However, the one aspect for further thought might be the contrast in flat black, semi-gloss and gloss black finishes AND letting enough light through.

I remember a light coating of black referred to as "smoked." For a smoked glass type look that allowed red light to pass through.

But, it does reduce the amount of light coming from the rear and that is a safety concern for me.

I find many LED taillights too bright for my liking as I am behind them at night.

I guess the worst that can happen is you'll have to pony up for another set of lenses. I wonder if Kaiman::S's tail lights show up much--even at night?

I'd got a lighter touch--smoked via a light thin coat of spray paint rather than heavily blacked out.

I have tinted tails same as KaiMen on a black Cayman, very satisfied.
The only difference is mine were color matched using factory paint, not much of a difference but regular smoked has a slight brown cast when used over clear lenses & with color matched there is no brown. Mine is a two stage paint & it looks factory perfect. If you like you can pm me for the website of the company I used & visit their site gallery.

I'll probably have Jons tinted tails do my headlights and tail lights eventually. I plan to keep the clear on the back untinted and make the fronts look like CGT headlights. My car is Arctic Silver.

I would go with the red taillights, look so good on darker CS. But the tint lights would be cool too
