I'm tempted to install a silver Porsche hood badge to keep with the monochrome theme on the car.
Did Porsche ever officially have a silver badge or is this one of those aftermarket modifications?
Anyone here actually have one installed? I know, it's a small and possibly silly change, but it seems like a fun mod.

I got mine from ebay...it had an Porsche part number on the box and on the back of the badge. I got it based on your reasoning too and keep looking for a silver steering wheel badge.
i was going to go with the silver badge myself, but decided i would hold off until i found a silver badge for the steering wheel as well...

Where do you find steering wheel badges and how do you change it out? I'm looking for a colored one, cuz mine is scratched and the dealer won't replace it, even though I believe the car came like this when I picked it up new. A parts guy told me that one of the older Porsche's hood badge is the same size as the steering wheel badge. Put recently, when I was at the service department, the service advisor told me I had to replace the whole airbag steering wheel cover.
You guys have experience in changing the badge out and where to pick them up?
Maybe the reason we haven't seen a Porsche steering wheel emblem is that its not possible to change without replacing the air bag cover assembly. I think it would be just glued on but its just a guess until we get a new one.
I had the dealer install the silver hood crest at the same time they installed the clear side lights. I think they both look better on a silver CS, but it's purely a matter of personal preference.
Sorry Tess, no decent pictures on the web for the hood badge. Just picture the gold portions of the current badge replaced with silver coloring.

When I visited Ralph Boothe Designs to purchase the polished exhaust tips, he showed me the silver hood emblems, which I believe he sells for about $100. The OEM hood badges (w/gold inlays) can be bought from Automotion for about $65. By the way, both vendors are CC sponsors.
