Thumbs up Cayman 2009 346HP or other car?

Hi

I am really happy in this forum. I ordered CS 2009 and it will arrive in September so you think its fear? BTW the price is $68,493 (I will attach the car list configurations).

But there are few comments and I hope to share and advice

1- I decide when the car arrived to buy the GT3 kit + wing (M's Machine Works)
2- The car color is black also I will paint the wheel black and make a space wheel.
3-There is a special filter race that is from UK and increase 10hp.
4-There is special soft where increase 20 hp.
5-I am happy with Borla cat back that gives 21.3 I think
6-CS = 346 HP what do you think??
7-Need an advice from you and your Ideas.

Regards,

Sounds like you are planning to go straight from Cayman S to Cayman GT - so maybe a GT badge or side decals?

By next September the Softronic/Plenum package should be out and pretty well tested (there are at least 50 members here who are planning to order it) - that may provide more HP potential than the intake/software mod you are looking at.

al7zin_ad,

To make you feel better, I ordered my Cayman in Feb-06 and it arrived 9 months later in November I would also strongly advise you not jump into modification as soon as you get the car; otherwise you'll miss learning and experiencing how good the car really is in stock form. BTW, I don't think you can simply add the the "effect" of each mod and come to a cumulative total.

al7zin_ad,

Welcome to the club. Its nice to have another member from Abu Dhabi and UAE. To make you feel better, I ordered my Cayman in Feb-06 and it arrived 9 months later in November I would also strongly advise you not jump into modification as soon as you get the car; otherwise you'll miss learning and experiencing how good the car really is in stock form. You think its good idea to wait? But I am still confused about the car warranty. In addition I am from UAE I hope I will have a good price for the shipping and the materials.

Thanks..

Wow finally find some one from our country!! Well I know about the engines and it will be more powerful if start increases HP.
But maybe I will look to your advice!!

There are a few Cayman Club members from the UAE. BTW, I saw a new Porsche Design Edition Cayman at the dealer this morning. Why don't you check it out. It might be a stock car since its been there for a while. In fact, there were 2 last week. May be you can get a good deal and drive it away now I asked the dealer about the warranty if I replace the exhaust. They gave me the usual answer that they are happy to install it, but will reserve the right to reject warranty claims is they can blame the modification for the problem! I am going to meet the service manager on Saturday to get more information.

hi guys!

great to see where the cayman enthusiast are!!!

congrats for ordering your cs! but i agree with zal_kindi - i also don't think you can just add up the various modifications in terms of hp.
50 extra hp - that's a word already!

from my experiance with the 993's i can tell you that "chip-tuning" plus changes airfilters gives you ca. 15hp extra. this in addition with a race exhaust incl. 200 cell race catalysts brings you around 25-30 hp - IN TOTAL!

anything beyond that... goes really deep into the mechanical tuning and weight saving! ...and it cost an awful lot of money.

for all that can't get enough power in their caymans - go to 9ff! they built a 780hp bi-turbo cayman !!!!!!

greetings to the uae!
marcel.

I too agree with zal_kindi about not jumping into mods right away. Plus, one more thing I'd like to add, I noticed that in ur configuration u dont have the MF steering wheel, I would really recommend having it if possible, it would make ur life much easier!!
