Stock Exhaust Cat Removal Modification

Has anyone experimented with removing the 2nd set of cats from the stock exhaust on a CS.

I am interested in doing this and am wondering if anyone has tried it, or knows how or if it can be done. There should be a potential performance improvement and sound change - comments?

Also any information on the internal construction of the stock exhaust would be helpful for this modification, and also for other potential performance and sound modifications.

Thanks for any comments and thoughts on this

Well you'd have to get a torch and literally cut the 2nd cat from the stock muffler and then I suppose weld in some pipes and patch up the muffler. I'm not sure that the couple of potential hp difference would be worth the time or expense. You can see why this is in some of the exhaust articles in our Articles section.

This pic shows how they are all one piece:

would also be interested in both questions. does anyone have an internal diagram of the internals of the PSE. I would be interested in modifying such that it becomes slightly louder in sport mode, yet unaffected in normal mode. I've seen one diagram of the PSE but without the full external baffling cutaway.

I would be interested in seeing this. Can you direct me to the source or send it to me?
Thanks
