Help - I Screwed Up The Simplest Mod - Aluminum Gas Cap
OK - I admit that I'm not the most mechanically inclined.
I got my big box in the mail today. I opened it up and inside was a little box. I opened up the little box and inside was a black velvet bag. Inside that was my new shiny aluminum looking gas cap.
With all the conversations about CO2 emissions on the cars, London's punitive gas emissions requirements, green house madness and so-on - I figured that I needed to do my part and cap my gas.
Now the installation was tricky. First - there's no threads in the exhaust pipe. So I kind of had to stuff the cap in. Second - it's a terrible fit. It's not going to cap any gas at all! Finally (and I'm incensed about this) - why would Porsche sell a gas cap kit and include only one cap? For a Cayman! Hello Porsche - there's two tail pipes! Boy are they dumb!
So what am I supposed to do? Stupid gases are leaking every time I start the car! How can I do my part for the environment with such a poorly designed product? Or perhaps did I install it wrong?
Take a look at my picture and give me your frank feedback.
