What is the best way to ship a used bumper?

I need some help! Any suggestions on the best (read: cheapest) way to ship a bumper from West coast to East coast? I found a good deal on a replacement bumper, but can't find a good shipping option. UPS says they can't ship it because it is oversized. Ideas? Thanks!

You are probably going to have to ship it Freight, but you might check with Greyhound and see if anything is available. That is provided that you and your destination have a Greyhound. I've heard that it can be really inexpensive to use them.

Good Luck!

As long as you don't mind the idea of your bumper making out with a meth using tranny with Hepatitis somewhere on the interstate.

What kind of ship is the bumper from anyway?

Oh wait, ship a used bumper as opposed to use a ship bumper. Got it. Never mind.

Glad to see someone suggested Greyhound as that's exactly what I was thinking! It's also a great way to ship documents and such in-state the same day for way less than overnight with fedex/ups

Greyhound is a great option, I know many that have used them. You should be ok with a bumper, but sometimes you can get close to their maximum dimensions. They will not budge on these dimensions either...

With that in mind I started using uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves last year and have had great luck. Its a subsidiary / partner to ebay but it works in reverse. You list a shipping request and transporters bid for the best deal / option. You can also use a ship-it-now feature in which you state your target price, and also a ship-it-now price. If a transporter has a good enough rating they are eligible to use ship-it-now, this give you the peace of mind that you are getting someone trustworthy.

I have used a couple different shippers for items like fiberglass hoods and bumpers. Many of the shippers use enclosed vehicle transporters and then supplement the load by adding on these small items. In all cases they were able to give door to door residential pickup and delivery which is worth ALOT to me in itself. I also had my special requests met, like top-of-load, or enclosed transport, etc.

Its worth a look, I have had great luck.

Nothing fancy. Just an OEM replacement. Will hopefully get a racing splitter from Ernie when available
