is TechArt GT good or fast?

I was looking at 2.7L Cayman, which only has 245hp, and 0-60 6.1 sec
3.4L Cayman S, which has 295 hp, and 0-60 5.4 sec

I saw there was a Cayman GT done by TechArt (I love their body kit, but don't know about their performance), who replaced 3.8L Carrera S engine and had a lot of modifications, but 0-60 only 4.8 sec. That is slower than stock Carrera S 0-60 4.6 sec.

Cayman S is smaller and lighter. so with the same power and performance, it should be faster than Carrera S.
it doesn't seem like TechArt had done a good job execpt the body kits.

is there any other shop that is better than TechArt?

thanks

3.8 swaps are more complex than people think especially in terms of getting the engine to produce the power on the dyno that it should. I don't know anything about TechART's 3.8 swap specifically.

Difference is likely due to intake and exhaust flow.

I thought with 385hp, it should be at least in mid 4 sec.
I saw some one did a Cayman GTR and with X51 3.8L, forget the name of the company did that.
is it because Porsche is heavier? WRX STI and EVO with some mod can be 4 sec. falt 0-60 mph

Is there anyone who actively posts in the club who has actually done the X-51 swap that Softronic offers? I'd love to hear their experience and look at their numbers. I'm seriously considering going that way, but it seems from the above post that its not predictable that, just because you do the swap, you can expect a certain predictable increase in performance.

Cayman Techart program

I found this looking for spoilers. I'm not affiliated with the shop and I just thought it'd be a cool read...they've got pricing too including a 20K widebody upgrade

Can we please oh please stop using the antiquated measure of 0-60?

1/4th trap speeds is a much, much better indication of straight line power.

sorry, it just that I am in VA, and they are very serious about speeding, +10mph will be $500 (x2-x4 time speeding) + $500 (x2violation of civil right)

so very hard to do 1/4th time (I wish I can do that though, but the cops are there for every 2 miles range)

by the way, sdiver68 I saw you have both 335i and Cayman S, can you tell me the differences between the two? I was thinking about 335, but still love porsche, so I got my CS.thanks

The Cayman's gear ratio is not as good compare to Carrera S.
