Installing Porsche Power Seats

Does anyone know if it is possible/difficult to install the stock Porsche Power Seats (currently being sold by a member) on a 2.7 Cayman that currently does not have power seats? Would there be alot of rewiring involved? Are the tracks that the seats are on compatible with each other?

Thanks,

Jim

There's no problem mechanically. I assume your seats have power wired to them for the seat back recline function. Since all the switches and motors are all contained in the seat itself, you should be able to use that same power source, but I don't know if the connectors are different between the 2 types of seats. If they are, it should be plug and play. If they are not the same you'll need to do minor rewiring.

something else to think about are the memory buttons on the door that power seat equipped models come with . non - power seats have no provisions for the memory functions .

Please keep us posted on how the install turns out. I had asked the same question and nobody at the dealership seemed to know the answer. I hope it is plug and play....then I will start searching for a new seat myself. Good luck!
