World's Hottest Cayman

World’s hottest Porsche Cayman

Top tuners have unveiled a Porsche Cayman with attitude and an enlarged heart – the Gemballa GT 4.0L RS22 February 2008

by Andy Goodwin
Top tuners have unveiled a Porsche Cayman with attitude and an enlarged heart – the Gemballa GT 4.0L RS.

The standard Porsche Cayman’s 3.4-litre engine has been completely rebuilt and it’s grown in size to a massive 4-litres.

But although Gemballa hasn’t announced performance details, we’d expect the GT 4.0L RS to produce around 400bhp and have a 0-62mph time around 4.5 seconds – making it the most powerful Cayman released so far and pushing its performance deep into Porsche 911 territory.

While the engineers responsible for the Cayman Gemballa GT 4.0L RS remain quiet about its power output – its body work speaks for itself.

The Gemballa Cayman is not for shrinking violets. It is fitted with a front lip spoiler and large rear wing, creating downforce and stability at high speeds.

Shining out beneath the 20-inch racing wheels are large racing brakes clamped by bright yellow calipers.

Adjustable sports suspension is fitted, allowing the owner to tweak its stiffness for track or road driving.

Inside, the yellow theme continues, lining the dashboard instruments, seat inserts, gear knob, handbrake, steering wheel, door linings and even the sun visors.

The cabin also features alloy sports pedals, special carpet and Alcantara.

In January, Gemballa announced an unbelievable 850bhp Porsche 911 Turbo – the Gemballa Avalanche GTR 800 EVO-R.

Its immense horsepower and 690lb/ft of pulling power made it one of the fastest Porsche’s we had ever seen.

With a dual-platform rear wing large enough for a Cessna and deeply louvered bonnet, it had the looks to back up its claimed speed.

I am sorry but I am not feelin the silver CF accents on black.

they should have left it all black. this car was released last year using the techart bodykit. I dont like the new wing either. I like the first gemballa 4.0 better.

I was surprised to see those silver accents as CF. Black CF would have been better.

I don't like the looks either. These guys have released much better in the body work department and that rear wing looks like an amateur job. Seriously. The interior looks cool, minus the color combined with the interior. Just don't like the yellow black with the black exterior. I don't like the convex looking wheels either (front).

I have seen better looking cars from members here who have modded.

I agree on the looks..... poor taste on their part. All the work the have done on all their other cars and thats all the could do on this one. RUF and Techart have way better looking Caymans than this. I'm with ARCuhTEK, I have seen members cars with modest modding done look better.

It must be better than 4.5s as I can already do that with 303RWHP.

I would agree with most here. Not diggin' the silver accents.....or even the whole color combo. And how much is it going to cost for a couple of tenths in 0-60?? I'll pass.

I thought Eazy Repsol had the hottest looking Cayman, or maybe just his profile pic!
