Scott already posted dyno #'s.

I can never understand how people that want to sit on the fence expect others to do the dyno testing for them before they buy the product.

Excuse me, but I thought Scott developed and is selling the product -- doesn't that make him an interested (as opposed to unbiased) party? I have no reason to doubt Scott's integrity, but as an example compare IPD's advertised numbers to the independent dyno numbers. And, didn't IPD have some early issues with collapsing hoses? Remember when IPD's plenum was the "latest and greatest" with a thread a mile long? It is naive to think that all sellers' marketing claims are reliable -- some are (and, as a potential purchaser, I hope Scott's are) and some aren't.

Huh? I think that's called prudence. Why risk wasting time and money on an unproven product? The only downside to waiting for all the facts to emerge is that if the product performs as advertised you are missing out on the increased performance and fun in the interim.

I'm with Morefun -- a potential purchaser of the Softronics plenum/software, but waiting for corroboration of the marketing claims and field proven reliability before jumping in.

Not to my knowledge; the only results I've seen were based on extrapolated "before" numbers -- not exactly something you'd want to take to the bank.

If I missed it, I'd appreciate a link.

Nope. There have been no independent Softronics plenum/flash dyno results posted at Caymanclub. I agree that it's surprising, but maybe everyone is just as lazy as I am (I haven't done a dyno post plenum/flash, so it's hard for me to point fingers).

If you drive the car post-mod, it is obviously much stonger. It's the only mod I've made so far that unmistakably has a big power increase - particularly at mid-range rpm. But, the standard of proof is always an independent dyno or two.

There have been reviews from members with the kit in the other threads. I don't believe that anyone has done a dyno yet. But here is something to think about. We tend to speak very loudly if something is not what we expected and if something is good we are not as motivated to shout about it I have not seen one comment complaining about this kit. Hmmm, I guess that everyone is out enjoying the fun. This mod is one of the biggest bangs for the $$$$ that I've seen for the CS. The lack of negative feedback is a sign that all is well in mod land.

I think one of the main reasons we don't see dynos is because they're not free and many of us would rather spend our $ elsewhere. Now if someone told me they would pay for my before/after dynos before I did the plenum and flash, I would have done it in a heartbeat. So maybe it's time for the fence-sitters to take up a collection for dyno testing?

Send me the money and I'll have a dyno done before and after for you. I plan on having it installed in 2 weeks.

I am loaning my car to RSS this coming Saturday morning and they are having the car independently dyno'd, installing the IPD plenum and having the car re-dyno'd. There is also talk of them installing a competition version of the IPD plenum with the wider GT3 throttle body and doing a dyno on that as well. My car is unmodified, no exhaust or instakes or even de-snorks, so it should give a good idea of whats what. I will be on hand to observe and i will have a camera to take some snaps. They have agreed to release the dyno charts regardless of the result and seem quite confident of their claims. Either way it should be fun.
