Cayman Factory Sport Exhaust

I am new to the forum and would like to say hello to everyone I have been looking and listening to a lot of the Cayman exhaust mods posted on YouTube and must say that in my opinion, the Cayman has the best sounding engine of all the cars currently offered by Porsche. As far as mods go, I think the Capristo mod with selectable valves is the best sounding of all. That is a true race-car note

One thing I have not seen on YouTube is a comparison with Porsches own sport exhaust. I see comparisons with the regular stock exhaust but not the stock sport exhaust. Or is it that when they say "Stock" they are referring to the sport exhaust? If not, can anybody provide a link to clips featuring a Cayman with the factory sport exhaust option so that I can make a comparison to the Capristo which again in my opinion is the king of exhaust mods.

You need to listen to the engine in the GT3. I like the Cayman a lot...but come on!

Gotta admit, the GT3 beats the Cayman off the lot. The GT3 off the lot almost sounds as good as the Cayman with the Capristo. The GT3 sounds hard!

Archer9,

Good question.

I dont have any video of the sports exhaust, but i do have it on my cayman. It sounds really awesome, at least not a bad job from the factory!

The cool thing is you can turn the sport exhaust off and on. it's like having two seperate exhaust mods on your car!

Anyone else have the sport exhaust? Do you like the sound?

i like the sports exhaust during my test drive and added the option in my order, i like the idea of having a choice on the go.

sometimes a quite trip is really necessary, and a constant loud exhaust when you are really not in the mood could become annoying

It would be nice to know if the SE adds any hp at all. Why can't Porsche provide the information?

I can't say that I've seen a comparison between a Porsche Sport Exhaust and an aftermarket system. Probably because the PSE sounds pretty good and costs $2,100 so there are few people taking them off.

Come to think of it, I've seen very few video that offer real A/B comparisons.

Here's a nice collection of clips for you: Exhaust Sound Collection

I've got the sport exhaust as well, although I sort of backed into it since this was the only configuration in California with all my "must have" options. Having said that, I'm really enjoying the punchier growl, and even though there's no official lift in HP, it definitely sounds the part!
