Factory Seat Upgrades, Aftermarket.

Hello all.....new to the forums here. I recently purchased a '07 Guards Red Cayman S and love it. Though, I stopped by the dealer recently while buzzing around town (which was the same thing I was doing when I had my '08 Bullitt Mustang.....).

Anyway, I sat in a well-optioned Cayman S that had the leather sport seats. I have the Standard Seats on mine (I bought a base CS and got a hell of a deal on it, add in it was a car that had been sitting on their lot for a while). Though they are nice seats and are comfortable, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience upgrading to better Porsche factory seats (e.g. Leather Sports, Adaptive Sports, or Sports Buckets) after they bought their CS. What was your cost? Was the installation straightforward (for you or the dealer?)? Are they better than the seats that you replaced? Do they have all the same adjustment vectors as the Standard Seats?

Your insight is appreciated!

Adjustment ranges are the same. I've heard it suggested that the mechanical seats will drop lower than the electric seats, but I've never seen anything to confirm that.

I have the sport seats and I love them. But the sport seats are not loved by everyone. Some body styles find them uncomfortable. If I were you, I would put an ad in our classified section offering to trade your standard seats plus a reasonable fee for a set of sport seats in the same color. You may just find someone who got sport seats and doesn't like them.

Good luck.
